He is a walking breathing testament to the hard work and dedication it takes to truly build your strongest most pristine physique ever. Gregg trains harder and longer than anyone I have ever worked with—trust me, all those Men’s Health covers did not happen by osmosis. He has instilled in me the knowledge and principals of both nutrition and weight training he’s gained through many years of experience in the fitness industry, and for that I am forever grateful."

As an Artist
Avedon has been involved in the arts his whole life. From grade school through high school, his hard work and abilities with media such as charcoal, graphite, and color pencils always earned the respect of his art teachers. Continuing through college as an artist, he graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design where he also studied photography and art history. Avedon earned extra money working as a photographer for a collegiate magazine as well as being commissioned to do freelance airbrush illustration. After college he worked as a graphic designer at an ad agency in Tallahassee and as a freelance artist back in Miami. An agent discovered Avedon at a local mall in Miami and although he walked away from a career in graphic design, he still maintains his creativity in everything he does.
As a Model
Things happened quickly for Avedon, especially being based in Miami where fashion was just beginning to pop wide open on South Beach. At that time South Beach wasn’t anything like it is today. The fashion industry brought a renewed flavor to the Deco district, and Avedon was right in the middle of it all. He was represented by one of the biggest agencies in South Florida at that time who kept him extremely busy. Almost immediately he found himself living in Paris, Hamburg, and Milan. This is where Avedon found success early on, walking down the runways of the biggest designers in the world including Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Gianfranco Ferre’, Gianni Versace, Donna Karan, Krizia, Trussardi and Valentino just to name a few. Thirteen seasons of fashion shows also allowed him to build working friendships with the late Gianfranco Ferre’ and Gianni Versace. Avedon traveled between Europe and the U.S. on a consistent basis, working with the ebb and flow of the seasons according to the fashion industry. By then South Beach was in full swing, and while that allowed him to work at home for weeks at a time, his agents worldwide kept him extremely busy jet-setting all around the globe. Throughout the years, Avedon has been on more than a hundred covers of magazines and catalogues combined, and has appeared in publications like Esquire, GQ, Vanity Fair, Cosmopolitan, Harpers Bazaar, Uomo Vogue, Men’s Health, and Best Life.

His interest and pursuit in acting spanned close to a decade. In fact there was a point when you wouldn’t find him without an acting book or script in hand. In 1996 his ardent focus on acting intensified and he began studying full time in New York. From there, he continued that pursuit in Los Angeles with the help of a private coach and personal manager. Avedon has done many commercials including Gillette Mach 3 Turbo Razor, Samsung Mobil Technology, Ford Motor Company, made an appearance on HBO’s Sex and The City, and filmed an episode of Burn Notice.
